The reality is, however, that if you have an RSS feed address, you can actually subscribe to the show’s feed directly. For example, if you don’t care for Apple products, and don’t want to download their iTunes app to play your favorite podcast, using a podcast player app can be a wonderful alternative.

If you have the RSS feed address of your favorite show, you can get directly to the show you’re looking for in most applications (including those associated with podcast directories such as iTunes) without having to search through hundreds of show names and similar titles that may have paid to have their show be listed higher in the results page. 

This can be especially helpful for smaller shows that might not have all the relevant data in their descriptions that would otherwise aid their audience in finding them faster.
